Marley Raven Counselling

Hi, I’m Marley (they/them). As a LGBTQ+ affirmative counsellor, I specialise in offering counselling for trans and non-binary, disabled and neurodiverse adults about a range of topics.

I am trauma-informed and provide counselling for anxiety, body image issues, depression, disability, gender identity, grief, self-esteem, sexual orientation, stress and workplace issues.

Welcome

  • I aim to offer you a sense of hope and empowerment, as well as techniques you could use in your daily life.

I adapt my counselling approach to best meet your needs at any given point in time during our therapy together, striving to create a supportive and accessible space.

    • LGBTQ+ folk who wish to meet a counsellor where those aspects of their identity will not be unnecessarily questioned or looked at, but can be spoken about respectfully and safely.

    • I only work with adults (18+).

    • Disabled people. I have a deep understanding of both the physical and mental health impacts of being disabled, especially in a world created by and for ‘able-bodied’ people. Not all disabilities are visible and not everyone with a difference wishes to identify as disabled. I aim to create a safe and accesible therapy space for everyone.

    • Neurodiverse individuals (no diagnosis needed). I have experience of working with people who display traits often associated with ADHD and autism. I will follow your lead in terms of language used around this.

  • Counselling sessions are typically:

    • 50 minutes

    • £60 per session (concessions avaliable)

    • weekly or fortnightly,

    • the number of counselling sessions you have is open-ended

  • I am passionate about difference and diversity and strive to be actively inclusive of everyone.

I am open to fidget toys being brought to sessions or for writing/doodling to happen. I am happy to discuss any accessibility requirements you may have and will do my best to accommodate them.

All questions are valid and I realise there are lots of factors that go into feeling safe, especially when something is new and different.

I’m really glad I found you. It’s useful not having to explain things that hurt (e.g. being trans and disabled).

You have completely rebuilt my trust in mental health professionals and your constant kindness, observation, thoughtfulness and positive validation have enabled me to cope with my lower moods and stand up for myself in ways that I genuinely believed I would never be able to do
